Overview

Everest as a word in itself is the synonym of superlative and adventure. Moreover, there are unlimited places and trekking routes throughout the region which can be compared to the highest degree of achieving and enhancing the spirit of adventure inside people’s soul. Everest Three High Passes trek offers swashbuckling chance to conquer the three extreme passes covered with snow besides Himalayan glaciers including the visit of legendary Everest Base Camp Trek. Kong Ma La Pass, Chola Pass and Renjola Pass are the three passes in this trekking route. At some stage of this trekking in Nepal trekkers will experience the peak climbing kind of adventure.

The journey of the Everest Three High Passes Trek is similar to that of the Everest Base Camp Trek until the trekkers reach Dingboche. For more information trekkers can check out the Everest Base Camp information in our website. The trip heads to Chhukung Ri on the way to Island Peak base camp. From their first pass to cross is Kong Ma La Pass. Upon crossing the pass trekkers will reach tranquil Lobuche. Follow the trail of Everest Base Camp from here and reach Gorakshep. You can witness the sunset view from Kalapathar as well after trekking to Base Camp. Leave your footprints alongside the foot prints of legendary people like Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay at this adventurous place. Then the trip heads to cross the Chola Pass. As you cross this pass besides ice/glacial lake you will be treated by the mesmerizing turquoise blue colored lake in Gokyo Valley. Witness the sunset or sunrise from Gokyo Ri from where the scenes of Gokyo valley looks outstanding including the Everest and mountains of Tibetan side. The final pass to cross is Renjo La. As you trek past this juncture then find out the small villages of Sherpa people. We will take the similar route from Namche Bazaar for the return procedure.

Itinerary

Day 1: arrive to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel


Up on your arrival at international airport in Kathmandu our Trek to Nepal representative will pick up our valued customers from airport and will be transferred to your recommended three star hotels. From today this is our responsibility to take care about the hotel on b/b plan at Kathmandu all meal during your trek on mountains, the hotel is centrally located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu which is renowned for its many restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, etc which is center for the tourists. 

Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing.


In Kathmandu Valley TTN representative tour guide picks you up from the hotel lobby and takes our customers to the landmark sight of Kathmandu like, Kathmandu Durbar Square which holds the political and historical values in Nepalese civilization. Apart from Kathmandu Durbar Square, we take our customers to SwayambhuNath Temple (Monkey Temple) which is the symbol of Harmony between Buddhists and Hindus from the very place we can get the splendid view of Kathmandu Valley and its outskirts. Furthermore, we take you to Pashupatinath Temple which is the holy place for Hindu devotees and the holy cremation area which might interest you. O/N at three star hotel on b/b plan.

Day 3: Early morning Fly to Lukla(2810m.) 30 min. and Trek begin to Phakding (2650m.)


200mtrs descend and 50mtr ascend. The Lukla airport often called as Tenzing Hillary Airport is the world’s most dangerous airport. The thrill of landing in such an airport is an added experience to make. After a bagpack formality From lukla the Trek begin towards to Phakding via Chaunrikharka.On the way we will stop for lunch where you can enjoy snowcapped peak of kusum kangaroo and thamasherku after another hour walk you will reach phakding. Phakding is a small village in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It lies in the Dudh Kosi river valley just north of Lukla and south of Monjo, at an altitude of 2,610 m. observe the activity of low land Sherpa of the region farming and cattle farming. Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazar1000mtrs ascends 1oomtrs descend.


After having breakfast your journey continues to wards to Namche bazaar, crossing suspension bridge several times by enjoying the beautiful forest of pine trees and rhododendron you reach Monjo the another nice settlement in this area .just beyond Monjo your trek will enters to the sagarmatha national park entry point jorsalle, where you have to register your entry permit so they can register your arrival. After this your journey to Everest continuous crossing Dudh koshi river and walking several up and down you makes you step climb near the confluence of two river Bhote koshi from the west and Dudh koshi from the east have to cross dizzying high suspension bridge from the river. Here the straight climb begans to Namche Bazar where you will find trafficking of people climbing up hill and the local person uses the police whistle to direct traffic.After an hour climb you will reach to the rest point where you can enjoy the view of Everest resion,if the weather is nice. Start climb slowly and less steeply to namche bazaar where you may have first effect of altitude may effect.Namche is a village and Village Development Committee (Namche) in Solukhumbu District in the Sagarmatha Zone of north-eastern Nepal. It is located within the Khumbu area at 3,440 metres (11,286 ft) at its low point, populating the sides of a hill. Namche is the main trading center and tourist hub for the Khumbu region with many Nepalese officials, a police check, post and a bank. It is also the place for acclimatizing for the trekkers to go further towards Everest base camp. O/N at guest house, Breakfast/ Lunch/ Diner.

Day 5: Acclimatization.


The acclimatization process takes place in Namchebazar by taking short day hiking or relaxing by roaming around in the Namche itself. According to health experts the trekkers should always move while relaxing and acclimatizing in the altitude. So, we take our fellow trekkers to either short hiking or walking in and around Namche before setting up for the further trek. Trekkers can hike to the world’s highest placed hotel “The Everest View hotel” from where you can see the spectacular view of the Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Khangtega and other panoramic views of snow capped mountains. The Khangtega mountain is unique on its geographical setting as it resembles the back pack of Horse riding. O/N at guest house ,Breakfast/Lunch/Diner.

Day 6: Trek to Thame/3800m/3-4 hours


 After breakfast at Namche, the trail leads you to the old village called Thamo, which is easy walk through the valley. After exploring the village, the trail leads continue to Thame, popular Sherpa climber’s settelment. After lunch, rest a little while and explore the Sherpa village and its culture. There is small Hydro power which is the main source to provide the electricity and the power source to Namche bazaar.. Stay overnight at the Lodge.

Day 7: Trek to Lumde/4137m/4 to 5 hours


After breakfast at the lodge in Thame, an easy walk to Marlung through the Bhote Koshi River with the scenario of valleys and Mountain,where you can have short break. Then the trail leads uphill to the place called Lumde through the dry valley. It is an interesting walking with enjoying the views of the snow peaked mountains and the valley with the beautiful scenario with fresh environment because there are not any more residential areas,The last one is Thame which you already crossed it. Once you get in to the Kharka, hike a bit higher than the place where lodge is located to get acclimatize with Staying overnight at the Lodge.

Day 8: Trek to Gokyo/4800m/ via Ranjo la Pass/5465m/17,929ft/7-8 hours


After breakfast the trail leads us uphill for an hour and half and then the easy walk for a while until we reach to the spot and there is hard climb to get to the top of the Renjo La in the height of 5465m from where we will be able to have an awesome view of Mt. Everest with Dozens of surrounding peaks. Including breath taking views of Gokyo valley where we are staying to night. From the top of the Renjo La the trail drops us down to the Gokyo lake which is the best one among three lake situated in this valley. Just get in to the Lodge. After beat resting on the lodge at gokyo you can start your evening hike to glacier and the little lake adds the charms to your journey. Enjoy your stay overnight at Gokyo lodge.

Day 9: Trek to Thangknak/4750m/15580ft/3 hours


After the breakfast we began to walk through Ngozumpa glacier. which is the Longest glacier in Nepal. The Journey is not that far but we would like to start quick earlier in time to be protected from the wind as well as from the sun. We will be hearing the sounds of rock falling in the glacier. So it will be the good idea to cross the glacier once the sun gets stronger that’s the way we can croos the glacier easier. Once we get in to the Thaknak it will be better Ideas to climb up to the small hill for acclimatization. Stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Zungla via Chola pass/: 5367m/17604ft/6-7 hours


After the early breakfast@ Thangnak we suggest you to be prepared for the hardest day of the trip by steep climbing for a while and dropping down to the buttom of Chola. After the couple minutes water break here the trail leads you the hard steep climb through the small rocky path after the couple hour climbing you will be able to stay with the Buddhist prayer flags at the pass with the million dollar view from the pass. Just after the pass start dropping down with the icy part for a while then down continuesly through the huge rock and the path comes easier to reach to Zhungla, where we are staying to night over here.

Day 11: Trek to Gorekshep/5,160m/16,929ft/5-6 hours


After hot breakfast at the lodge, an easy downhill with easy ups, downs and flat the trail takes us to Labuche, (main trekking trail for Everest base camp trekking) may stop there for Lunch and continue our journey towards to the Gorakshep through the rocky trail with the spectacular view of Mt. Everest,Mt. Nuptse,Mt. Pumori and the Dozens of other small peaks and Khumbu Glacier on the way. After few up downs, the trail takes us to Gorekshep, located at the bottom of Kalapatthar where we are going to stay overnight at lodge.

Day 12: Hike up to the Base Camp/5,357m/17,575ft/6-7 hours


Today is the day to fulfill your desire to be at the loop of the Highest Mt of the earth, after the 3 hours of walking through the ridge of Khumbu glacier. Who will not enjoy the moment to finding their surrounding with the views of the glacier and mountains on the loop of Everest base camp with the Buddhist prayer flags symbolizing of the Base Camp. If you are on the season of climbing there will be hundreds of colorful tents around. After exploring around the Everest base camp, hike back to the lodge and chill out at the lodge remaining of the day.

Day 13: Hike up to Kalapatthar/5545m and trek to Lobuche/6-7 hours


Start your hiking without breakfast to catch the million doller sunrise view from the top of Kalapatthar. After the couple hour hiking uphill you will be able to see the greatest view point of the Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori , Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamerserku, Mera Peak and many more. After capturing the moments on your camera with the breath taking views of Himalayas trek down to the lodge and have breakfast at the lodge on Gorakshep and continue our downhill journey to Labuche where we aree staying overnight on guest house.

Day 14: Trek to Chukung/4,730m via Kongma la pass/6-7 hours


er breakfast at the lodge, your day will start walking through Khumbu glacier towards east. After crossing the glacier and river the trail leads up to the pass which is the highest pass of this trip. There will be no tea shop and water resource so that you will have to carry few bottles of water to drink. After hard climb to the top, the trail drops steep down to the Chukung valley where your day ends. Stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 15: Trek to Tengboche/3,867m/12684ft/5-6 hours


Let’s have an easy downhill through the valley continuously crossing down to the Dingboche. Then after the walking down hill and crossing the valley and some tea houses can reach to Pangboche. After Pangboche village, the trail drops you down to the river and cross the bridge. After crossing the river the trail leads up to the Tengboche village, where the oldest Monastery is situated on the top of the hill. Visit Monastery to see the Buddhist chanting ceremony at the evening and overnight at the lodge.

Day 16: Trek to Namche/3440m/11,284ft/4-5 hours


Today our journey starts with walking steep downhill through the rhododendron forest for about 300mtrs until we reach to bottom of the hill, after crossing the bridge start same distance steep climbing uphill with pine and Rhododendron and juniper forest until you reach at the village called Khumjung. Let’s explore the reach Namche Bazaar for overnight stay at guest house.

Day 17: Trek to Lukla.


Today is the last day of your walking holiday. Just walk slowly with beautiful sceneries of Himalayas on mind. The last day of trekking. At this juncture we will have fun while trekking with some songs on popular Nepali folk tunes, we will share the pictures that we took and the memories that we cherished. Upon reaching Lukla we will give rest to our mind and body by being prepared for evening celebration. O/N at guest house ,Breakfast/Lunch/Diner

Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu.(farewell)


We head back to Kathmandu and as earlier the accommodation will be provided along with the breakfast in a three star hotel in Kathmandu. On spare day you can roam around Thamel or other major touristic areas at Kathmandu and do some shopping of Nepali souvenir for your friends and families. Fare well dinner will be held either in a typical Nepali restaurant in Kathmandu with cultural programs or with the Trek to Nepal guide family on our farm house in Goldhunga. Day 19: Departure to final destination. We will drop you to Tribhuban international airport by private airport transport. We always feel very sad at this very juncture that our companion of trekking for the moment ends here and in the meantime we also feel relaxed that we were able to serve you with the best trekking experience that you ever get in your lifetime while trekking.
