Champadevi Hiking

The Champadevi day hike offered by Trek to Nepal trails through the heart of a lush green forest. Thus, it is ideal for recreational activities like gatherings and bird watching. This hiking starts from the bottom of hattiban hill. Although the hike is steep, the melody of chirping birds, howling mountain breeze and soothing greenery of nature makes the trip unforgettable. Hiking around Champadevi usually takes 4 hrs. However, a trek to Nepal representative would totally understand if you want to spend some more time in nature's lap during your exploration.

The Champadevi hiking destination lies on the way to Dakshinkali Temple and Kulekhani dam in southern part of Kathmandu Valley. Initially, the path is easy to walk and is also famous for downhill cycling. After 30 minutes of walking we reach to our first checkpoint (also known as half-point). This checkpoint is also a picnic spot for most of the city dwellers. So, we may encounter the joyous moment of the local people gathering there. After resting there shortly, we move towards Champadevi hill. Our route gets steeper as we pass through the checkpoint. This steep uphill hiking can also be termed as familiarization trip before we head for trekking. As the ascent continues, we reach to the Deurali Machhegaun.
 
Since the path is exactly at the edge of Hattiban hill, we will have 360 degrees view of Kathmandu Valley and its surrounding hills like Fulchoki hill and Chandragiri hill. We will also encounter the eye catching sight of Mt. Everest, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Gaurisankar and several mountain ranges. Sometimes the mountains are cloaked with clouds but they are often clearly visible. On your right side will be the hustle and bustle of dense Kathmandu Valley, while on your left side will be the green fields and scattered village on the bank of Bagmati River. This is the unique opportunity for you to experience two completely different scenic delights from a single place. This scenic beauty accompanied by the melodious sound of chirping birds and insects enlivens your soul. Despite the steepness, the warm welcome of nature will keep you going until we reach the Champadevi Temple hiding amidst dense forests.To restore our energy, lost after one and a half hours of ascent, we will spend one hour right in front of the Champadevi temple meditating and praying. The peaceful atmosphere with just the chirping sounds of birds to hear will heal your mind and soul and revive positive vibes within you.

The Champadevi hilltop also has a small cabin where we can rest for a while and unpack our meals and refreshment drinks. After meditation and rest we cheerfully head back down hill. The downhill hiking will be much easier. In only about 2 hrs we will reach Taudaha lake which is the nearest natural lake present in Kathmandu Valley. After short sightseeing around the Taudaha lake, we head back to our hotel.

13:00 PM -   Reach To Champadevi Hilltop
14:00 PM -   Prayer and refreshment at Champadevi

   (Local hikes and stop for lunch)

16:00 PM -   Champadevi to Taudaha lake
17:00 - Drive back to Kathmandu From Tau daha.
