Best Time to Visit NepalNepal is an ideal destination for tourists all through the year. The best season to Travel in Nepal is autumn (Oct-Dec) and spring (March-April). In autumn, the weather is usually clear with warm days and cold nights. In spring, the morning is usually clear but afternoons could invite some occasional showers. The days are warm with blossoming flowers and vegetation are spectacular at this time of the year. Trekking during the winter (Dec-Feb) is possible as the days will be clearer with un-obscured mountain panorama.
Trekking during monsoon (Jun-Sep) is generally difficult and uncomfortable as the weather remains hot and heavy downpour deteriorates the trekking trail. The trail becomes muddy and is leech infested plus the mountains are usually obscured by clouds. But during monsoon, summer trekking in the trans-Himalayan regions of Nepal such as Mustang, Dolpo and Tibet is possible to do because these regions are less affected by rainfall.
We have four Climatic Seasons for the adventures.
Spring(Mar-May):
The temperature is mild in low lands while moderate in higher altitudes with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the Himalayan panorama. It is also the time for flowers to blossom and Rhododendron - the national flower of Nepal, can be seen blossoming
decorating the entire region high up in the Himalayan trails.
Summer(Jun-Aug): Summer is also the monsoon season in Nepal during when weather is hot and wet at times.
It rains almost every day with occasional thunderstorm in the evening.
Autumn(Sep-Nov): In the winter season though the weather is cold but the sky will be clear with occasional snowfall in the higher elevations. This season is ideal for trekking in lower elevations. This is the best time to visit Nepal and pick tourist season. The weather is pleasant with clear blue sky. One can truly enjoy the scenic view of natural glamor during this season. This is also the season to celebrate some of the national festivals of Nepal like Dashain and Tihar.
Winter (Dec-Feb): In the winter season though the weather is cold but the sky will be clear with occasional snowfall in the higher elevations. This season is ideal for trekking in lower elevations of Nepal.

Are you travelling First time in Nepal? If you are traveling to Nepal for the first time, there is plenty to experience and many diverse regions to explore. Situated between neighboring countries, India, China and Bhutan, Nepal is rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. Nepal is a melting pot in the truest sense of the word, being home to people of many different ethnicities and religions. Travelers and trekkers alike continue to come to Nepal to experience the glorious landscapes the Himalayas provide. Apart from outdoor activities, the people of Nepal are known for their warm and compassionate nature, whose sensibilities have continued to charm people throughout the ages.
Trek to Nepal recommends that all first time travels check with their local government to see which documents are required to travel abroad. Some countries require some vaccinations to be administered prior to travel, though the Nepal Government does not require any proof of vaccination upon arrival in Nepal. Tourist visas are easily obtained at the Tribhuvan Airport (the International Airport of Nepal) on arrival in Kathmandu and the Nepalese Government requires no preliminary documentation to be submitted by travelers prior to arrival. Unlike some countries, Nepal makes the process for tourist visitation remarkably easy, as a way of promoting the tourism industry, which is a substantial contribution to the national economy.
Coming to Kathmandu can feel overwhelmed when traveling to a new country with a different native language. However, many first time visitors to Nepal have remarked on the ease in which they were oriented when traveling with the couple decade’s expert guides of Trek to Nepal. Having a fluent Nepali-English speaker with the government liaison is an important feature provides to aids in the transition to a foreign land. Having someone who is available at all times of day to ask questions or express concerns is a feature of our organization that many clients have found comforting. Solo-TravelerWhile you are seeing many foreigners in Nepal traveling alone and this should come as no surprise. Since tourism is the staple of the Nepalese economy, individuals of all walks of life are welcomed graciously from the Team of Trek to Nepal.
Though solo travelers have little to worry about in the urban districts of Nepal, Trek to Nepal advices to have a guide or liaison in the outer regions who speaks fluent English and Nepali. One reason that we recommend a guide is strictly for comfort. Traveling with a native Nepali speaker significantly reduces the likely hood of scam artists and thieves targeting travels. Travelers have also noted that they do not get the notorious tourist prices on food and other purchases. Many shopkeepers will charge up to three times the normal price of items to those who travel without a native Nepali speaker.
Similarly, on treks it is highly advised that travelers go with at least one guide. Even the most experience travelers know the importance of having a helpful guide along the trail. Not only are guides important for safety, but often our clients have often remarked that the friendships formed with guides along the trails have been among the most meaningful experiences they’ve had throughout their journey.
A benefit of traveling individually is that single travelers have room for much more spontaneous decision making. In fact, a larger percentage of the travelers you will see in the urban districts are not in groups and that attests to the individual and independent nature of the people that come to this beautiful land. Most of those who wish to do volunteerism in schools and orphanages come as single travelers but are surprised to find that their social schedule is soon filled. Adventure Trek to Nepal, is experienced in providing individuals interested in doing volunteer work the opportunities to become involved in the community.
Travel InsurancePersonal Travel Insurance is highly recommended while you are on the adventure in Nepal. There are different global sites which provide the Holiday Travel Insurances at a reasonable cost. While buying a Travel Insurance for Nepal, you got to be sure about the Insurance policy that covers the mountainous regions, rescue cost, evacuation, and others activities depending on your preferences. Buying comprehensive package is highly suggested as it loaded with various options, and saves money at the same time. If you fall sick or met with an accident during your trip in Nepal, the personal cost could be very expensive for the tourists because rescue is one and only the option to come down if you are sick or got any altitude sickness. In this case the travel insurance can cover all your costs, and also bears responsibility to manage the trip further accordingly. If you decide to opt out from the trip due to illness, the travel insurance is liable to make arrangements of your departure to your country.
Some travel insurances have different polices depending on the altitudes you would travel. So, you got to be sure about the place, and the altitude you would travel on. Since, Nepal is a mountain country, while travelling to the base camp of these mountains you have to travel to regions with high altitudes. Finally, always have a printed copy of your policy handy while travelling in Nepal. Also, save an e-copy in your email to retrieve in case the original gets lost or misplaced.
Communication in NepalNepal has done a rapid development in the field of communication in recent years. Nepal Telecom is the prime body in Nepal that distributes PSTN lines, mobile phones and internet.
Postal services
The office of central post office is located in Sundhara Kathmandu. The office opens from 9 AM to 5 PM Sunday to Friday. The counters are open from 10 AM to 4 PM and provide postal stamps, postcards, aerograms etc.? There are global logistics services companies like TNT, FedEx, DHL etc. operating in Nepal.
Telephones and mobiles
Telephones are available in almost most part of Nepal. There are many private companies that provides mobile services and SIM cards are easily available for the authorized outlets. You need to fill up the form with personal detail before purchasing a SIM card. There might be some network issue in some areas of Nepal but satellite phone are available in most of the region.
Internet
There are many internet service providers in Kathmandu and other cities of Nepal. They provide with high speed internet service to easily access the internet. You can also access internet from 2G and 3G connection on your mobile device.
Electricity in NepalWith the rapid development of infrastructure in Nepal, many hydro projects has been installed in Nepal to supply electricity in households of Nepal. Power outage in Nepal during the dry season is a big problem in Nepal but hotels and guesthouse in most of the places have power backup like generators and invertors for electricity supply. In Nepal the power voltage of 220-240 volts is supplied to power the appliances. Please be careful while plugging the device to the software the volt has to be adjusted. There are many things you need to consider before using your electrical appliances in Nepal.
Nepal’s Electricity is 220-240 Volts and 50 MHZ (some countries like U.S and Canada are 110-120 volts/60 MHZ).
In Nepal electric Plugs are of two or three round prongs and flat prongs are also available in multi-plugs and extension cords
If you are carrying your own hair dryer, electric shaver, curling iron, laptop computer or other electrical devices on your travels then you will need to obtain either a voltage adapter (electrical converter) or a plug adapter that adjust the flow of voltage.
We recommend taking adapter, converter and charger kit if you plan to carry electronic devices in Nepal. You can find these items in electronic store in Kathmandu as well. You can find electronic shavers, mobile chargers, hair dryers etc in those stores of Nepal. Electricity flow is not smooth in Nepal. Electricity often goes off and on. Voltage fluctuation is very common and it is advised that you use an adapter with quality power surge protector to ensure any loss or damage to your device. Nepal has not been able to produce enough electricity to meet the high demand, so in dry seasons there is power outage for hours but hotels, restaurants and stores have their power back up.
